Dr. Jari Talvinen,
Managing Director
Jari is a seasoned professional with an extensive background in international business development, finance, operations management and sales & marketing from global companies like IBM, Ericsson, PWC, Nokia as well as leading regional companies like CapMan and Aalto Executive Education in Europe and in Asia.
In addition, he has a broad-based board work experience from growth companies both as a member of the board and chairman. He has helped various companies from different industries to successfully raise funds, establish and grow business in the Europe and/or Southeast Asia. Jari has been living 10+ years in Singapore with India and Indonesia as prior locations in Asia.
At CapMan, the leading Nordic private equity company, he was responsible as a partner for the full life cycle of investment project management from sourcing, financial modelling and business case development to exit. Jari has continued his CapMan career as being an Advisor for Southeast Asian for CapMan.
He has also worked in the academia or close to that with significant merits: for the Helsinki School of Economics as Professor of Information Systems Science, Department of Management; and for Aalto University Executive Education as Head of Asia Pacific Region, Managing Director based in Singapore – he executed a growth strategy expanding the education & training business from Singapore to Indonesia, Taiwan and mainland China.
Jari holds a Ph.D. in Marketing & ICT from the Helsinki School of Economics (HSE, today Aalto School of Business), Finland. He currently holds a position as Adjunct Professor for the Aalto University, School of Business.
Johanna Lindroos,
Chair
Seasoned professional with 20+ years experience from investments, finance, M&A and growth companies as investor, board member and member of the management team.
Prior to joining Karuna as a full time executive chairman Johanna was Partner at Dasos Capital, a global forestry investment fund with funds under management at 600+MEUR. Johanna was responsible for Dasos’ Asian investment and operations.
Prior to Dasos Johanna worked as Partner at CapMan, the leading Nordic private equity company with funds under management at 3+BEUR. She held various investment, business development and fundraising positions at CapMan. She also served as board member and interim manager for CapMan portfolio companies, eg. Sentera (currently Digia), an IT company, that was reverse listed to the Helsinki Stock Exchange via a merger under her lead.
Johanna has served as Board Member of the Finnish Industry Investment (Suomen Teollisuussijoitus), a government private equity investment vehicle with funds under management at around 1BEUR.
Johanna has been living 10+ years in Singapore with India as a prior location in Asia. She has worked extensively also in Malaysia during her years in Singapore.
Johanna holds a M.Sc. in Economics and Finance from the Helsinki School of Economics (HSE, today Aalto School of Business), Finland.
